THE LAST WORDS

When you hear of me no more
When you call and I respond not
When you visit and meet my absence
Know that
The last time was my last words

When your eyes are clouded with tears
When your heart is loaded with pain
When you feel your body
Is flooded with flames of no fire
know that
My last words were the last to you

I said my last words
And I know they count
If love indeed exists
If you have anything like that for me
If you’ll live with the memory
We shared
Let my last words have a place
In the garden of your heart

I am going
Your last words I promise to keep
If I’ll be allowed at the border
To carry something along
I’ll never forget your last words
