THE TABLE WILL TURN.

THE TABLE WILL TURN

The style of laying a bed
Has no grudge with sleep.
Body wey tire well well
No dey find pillow for bed.
Until the eyes clear
Weytin concern nose come concern mess?

Destruction digs holes.
Destruction breaks bonds.
Separation calls families
To a club and eats them for a feast.

A cockroach with mouth
Plays superiority to houseflies.
Houseflies look at mosquito with impunity.
Mosquitoes too say ebe like dem be better biters.

Hear say it was
From a very far land.
We could only imagine
How man eats man.

Well, times are changing.
The world is rolling.
The Creator is calling.
As Heaven is approaching
Let’s start observing.
Let’s keep our faith moving.
For nothing is ours
On this land of vanity.

  1. Beautifully woven with language versatility. I love the interspersion of pidgin English in the piece.

  2. The intersection of the pidgin is forcing me to read over and over. Lovely 👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥
